The Aftermath

I'd like to thank everyone for their concern. I think that I will be fine, it's just going to take a little time. At my age, I just don't bounce like I used to.

Several years ago I was broad sided in an accident in my truck. I experienced a lateral whiplash injury that I was told would never heal completely. Most of the problem now (aside from bruising on my legs, arms and body) is with that injury. I have obviously re injured it, if not added to it somewhat. I will probably be going to the doctor for a referral for physical therapy.

I have no symptoms of concussion. I would not jeopardize my health by ignoring a head injury. I had a head trauma several years ago that was not treated properly. I wrote about it on my other blog beginning with this post. A Baby Boomer Dreams of Arabian Horses - The Maiden Season Part 10

Luckily it turned out ok but with what I learned could have happened to me, there is no way I would avoid getting help. As much as my system is frightened of doctors an hospitals, we are in total agreement if we need help we will go. However, I would go to a class 1 trauma center only because now I know they are the only ones qualified to deal with the horse related injuries of that kind.

I'm really believe I'm just dealing with soft tissue injuries. My neck is a mess. While I have headaches, they are from the tightness in my neck. They are identical in nature to the headaches I had from the truck accident and they respond to massaging those muscles at the base of my skull.

I've spent most of my day sleeping which is very hard for me. I'm a workaholic and find it difficult to sit still. Hopefully I will be able to sleep tonight as well. Restless nights after daytime sleeping discourage my system from co-operating with napping. So cross your fingers and hope I can sleep tonight as well. That way I might actually get to just rest a few days.

Yes, maybe you will be AOK, RR! I sure hope so. I hope you have a nice sound sleep to help you heal up. I know neck pain is the pits. I have arthritis in my neck. Having pain there gives me headaches, too. Maybe some anti-inflammatories will help? Take really good care.

I'm just getting caught up with some blogs after our corn harvest and I am so sorry to hear about your horse accident! It's a good thing you had a helmet on!

I also was reading about your fear of Dentists and Doctors...something we all just do and don't really think about...I can't imagine having that great of a fear and having to live through it.

I am praying that you are feeling better....relax (even tho you are a workaholic) and give youself time to heal.

kahless, I'm still sleeping a lot but getting better each day. Thank you for being there.

lynn, I have been taking the anti-inflammatories too, heat and cold etc, I am much better. Thank you.

frazzled farm wife, I am a work a holic but I am making myself be good and staying down. There's no messing with a clot so I'm being careful. I didn't go to the doctor, but I let the vet look at it. lol

marj aka thriver, thanks I am doing better. will be up and around soon, I hope.

jumpinginpuddles, I hate to say this but I hope I get the full recovery, even if I don't get all the rest I need. I am such a cheat at taking a break! lol

april_optimist, thank you, I think I'm working on it.
